How to register a depreciation in NettoWise
Step by step adding a depreciation, with an example for a car.
In NettoWise you register a depreciation for business assets that last multiple years. You enter the purchase value, date, useful life, and residual value. NettoWise then applies this to your profit per period.
Purchase value below EUR 450? That usually belongs under business costs instead of depreciations.
Add a depreciation
- Go to
Portal->Data->Depreciations. - Click
Add. - Fill in the details:
- Asset name
- Purchase value (excluding VAT)
- Purchase date
- Useful life in years
- Residual value
- Save.
Once depreciations have been applied, you can only edit the name.
Example: car
A car is typically depreciated over multiple years.
- Name: Car 1
- Purchase value: EUR 12,000
- Purchase date: 15-03-2025
- Useful life: 5 years
- Residual value: EUR 2,000
How it shows up in your calculation
NettoWise spreads the purchase value minus residual value across the useful life. That amount lowers your profit per period and therefore affects your taxable income in box 1.
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| Purchase value | EUR 12,000 |
| Residual value | EUR 2,000 |
| Depreciation base | EUR 10,000 |
| Useful life | 5 years |
| Annual depreciation | EUR 2,000 |
